HONORS COLLEGE
-
I have been proudly a part of the FIU Honors College during all of my undergraduate years, and it is one of the best collegiate decisions I have ever made. Being in this program has led me to make the most out of my education by challenging myself both academically and personally through the rigorous curriculum of the Honors College. The material I learned in my Honors classes, as well as the experience I gained from the plethora of volunteer work and attending campus events, has really helped in both my personal and academic growth here at FIU.
GLOBAL LEARNING COURSES
-
The Global Learning coursework I have taken at FIU have been both impactful and inspiring. One class that was particularly impactful was World Regional Geography. I have always been interested in the world around me. I love meeting people from different backgrounds and learning about their cultures and traditions. Through this class, I was able to explore rich cultures, view global trends, and understand interregional connections regarding economy, trade, environment, resources, and more. It broadened my global perspective as I was able to learn so much about the fascinating world that we live in. Another class that was impactful was a class on sociology. As aforementioned, I am enamored by the study of human social life, and so this class was truly an eye-opener as it gave me an in-depth examination of humans, human behavior, interpersonal relationships, and how culture can shape human patterns and interactions. Seeing as though I am a student at an ‘International’ university, it was fitting that I take the initiative to learn about the cultures and individuals around me.
